INDIA can not handle this by itself. The major mode of solid waste disposable is by land-dumping and composting in India, with more than 95% of country’s domestic waste ends up in landfills apart from water and industrial waste easily traveling down to our water’s, the most prestigious and sacred source.
Improving our environment has a close bearing on the healthy industrialization, development and human lives; however the environmental problems in India have become the most important issue to be resolved. The industrial and economic developments of Indian have added to the overall well being of mankind but, in an effort to join the race with industrialized countries, we have not paid any attention to the effects of these industries detrimental to our environment. All this makes it utter most important and India’s today have started taking action desperately trying to phase out old technology and looking forward to advances remedial measures and technologies that will promote healthy industrialization and managing its waste. With India still struggling to deal with the problems of waste management, the government, municipal corporations as the leader of advisory group consisting of professionals, academicians, environmental organizations, NGO’s and resident welfare associations are drawing the master plan to be implemented on the war footing to handle the problem. |
